The determination of the effective temperature of different kinds of chemically peculiar stars from Geneva photometry is rediscussed. We propose an improved method of determining T(eff) of Ap stars from Geneva's reddening-free X and Y parameters or from the B2-G index. The effect of duplicity on the determination of T(eff) of Am stars is discussed.
