Operability Of A Space System, Accumulation Of Damage, Load-Durability Model
Scientific paper
The operability of a space system is estimated in terms of the load-durability model with allowance for the accumulation of damage caused by the environmental effects, which results in a decreased probability of retaining the operability during long-term space flights. One simple example shows that the probability of retaining the operability can drop significantly due to these reasons. Correlations are given that enable us to specify requirements for the initial probability of retaining the operability given that the load pickup law, damage accumulation law, and period of time over which the system is functioning are known.
