We have developed a generic three-dimensional radiative transfer code, SPEC3D, aimed at post-processing 3D radiation magnetohydrodynamics simulations. SPEC3D solves the monochromatic 3D radiative transfer equation. The numerical approach and the major features of the code are presented. The wide range of applications includes the modeling of a number of astrophysical objects and structures, such as accretion shocks around young stellar objects, stellar and exoplanets atmospheres, cosmological structures, but also the modeling of laboratory astrophysics experiments such as magnetohydrodynamics jets and radiative shocks.
