We have obtained high-resolution (R=25,000) near-infrared spectroscopy of the 1.66 micron 2nu3 band of methane on Pluto, Eris, and Makemake. Atmospheric methane is strongly detected in the Pluto spectra and not detected in the spectra of Eris and Makemake. The spectrum of Pluto is poorly fit by a single layer radiative transfer model where all the methane is at a single temperature. Greatly improved fits can be obtained with a two-layer model, with one warmer (T 100K) layer and one cooler (T 50K) layer. We will present these new fits to the Pluto spectrum as well as upper limits on the column abundance of methane in any atmospheres around Eris and Makemake.
