We present brightness profiles of Saturn's rings from VIMS observations of a ring-plane crossing by the Cassini spacecraft from 16:04 UT on 1 December, 2005 to 15:46 UT on 2 December 2005. The ring opening angle to the spacecraft varied from 0.016° to -0.014° and the solar ring opening angle was -19.5°. A VIMS pixel subtended 1000 km on the rings. The images are rotated so that the rings are horizontal in the image, and columns of pixels (already calibrated to I/F by the Cassini standard pipeline) are summed to yield vertically integrated I/F (VIF). The distance of each pixel from the center of Saturn is determined by measuring the position of a satellite, if one is present in the frame, or the position of the F ring ansa when no satellite is present. We show the evolution of the brightness of these VIF profiles with time as well as variations in the VIF of different regions of the rings at different wavelengths in the near infrared and visible.
