The reflection of light from different samples (e.g., lunar soil and a photometric analog of Martian soil) is analyzed. The disk brightness distribution of a planet covered with such material is determined, and an empirical formula is derived which describes this distribution with an accuracy up to some constant factor. The applicability of this relation for defining the disk brightness distribution law for the moon and Mars is discussed.
