We are investigating ``the transition period'' and minimum periods of
the evolution of compact systems including a NS. The implications of
this kind of study for the understanding of the so called ``non
flickerers'' discovered by Cool et al.(1998) and Taylor et al.(2001) and
identified as He-WDs, are briefly discussed.
