By analyzing the YAO/Hα, TRACE/WL, SOHO/EIT EUV filtergrams and SOHO/MDI magnetograms, two surges occurring in NOAA AR 0484 on 2003 October 22 are investigated. The main results from the data are as following: (1) Both jet-like bright and dark components were observed in the Hα surges, but the two components were neither co-spatial nor simultaneous. The bright Hα features were well correlated with UV and EUV surges in both location and timing. (2) The cold and hot plasma were ejected along EUV loops. (3) At the footpoints of surges in photosphere, the sunspots and magnetic field underwent noticeable changes: emergence and/or cancellation. All observed results support the previous magnetic reconnection model.
