Since 1995 over 400 extrasolar planets have been discovered by a variety of methods, most notably radial velocity observations and transit photometry. However, these two methods are biased towards finding Jupiter-mass planets. On the other hand, photometry of gravitational microlensing events is the only ground-based technique that is capable of detecting Earth-mass planets. Brightness variations of relatively faint stars, generally in crowded fields, have to be monitored with high cadence and precision on a twenty-four hour basis to detect the short-lived deviations from the smooth curve expected when a foreground object with a planetary companion passes close to the line of sight to a distant star. This contribution will discuss microlensing planet discoveries, as well as some other astrophysically interesting results to date.
