The effect of random initial conditions on the results of the numerical integration of perturbed motion equations is considered. It is shown that the time of meteor swarm formation cannot be determined using a method for calculating secular perturbations with random initial conditions. In addition, this method cannot be used to reconstruct the structure of meteor swarms or predict their encounters with the earth at large time intervals.
