Scientific paper

Effective temperatures and surface gravities have been derived for field
and globular-cluster horizontal-branch A stars. The values are obtained
by fitting spectrum scans to the energy distributions calculated by
ATLAS model atmospheres (Kurucz, 1979, 1981). The validity and accuracy
of the results are discussed.
