Drift scans of the Comet P/Halley were obtained on January 5 and 7, 1986 during the preperihelion period during observations made at Nainital, India. The drift scans were used to map out the CN, C3, and C2 comas at varying distances from the center of the nucleus. It is shown that the strength of emission features gradually decreases with increasing the projected distance from the nucleus. The CN molecule was found to be present at much larger distances from the nucleus compared to C3 and C2 molecules.
