SN 1987A presupernova can be the primary of a close binary system what explains a relative compactness of this star and chemical composition of its envelope. The total hydrogen mass in its envelope can not exceed ≡1.2 M_sun;. The second possibility to explain the unusual size of the presupernova consists of the assumption about increased depth of the outer convective envelope on the phase of red supergiants. The high hydrogen content in the shell source is necessary for explosion of the blue supergiant.
