We present a set of mock redshift catalogues, constructed from N-body simulations, designed to mimic the DEEP2 survey. The simulation is sufficiently large to give enough independent realizations and has sufficiently dense time sampling to display possible evolution embedded in such a deep survey. We populate dark matter haloes with galaxies using the halo model. Specifically, the Halo Occupation Distribution and Conditional Luminosity Function are constrained from local 2dF results(both the luminosity function and luminosity-dependent bias). Those models which fit well are used to populate dark matter halos at higher redshifts. Mock catalogues produced in this way show excellent agreement with the low order clustering statistics from early DEEP2 data. These mocks can be used to evaluate various selection effects of the survey and to test new algorithms and statistics that are used in the analysis of DEEP2 data.
