It is known that starburst galaxies exhibit a correlation between their UV spectral slope (β ; equivalent to UV color) and their infrared excess (ratio of Far-IR to Far-UV; IRX). This relationship indicates that dust surrounds starburst regions and can be modeled to provide an estimate of the UV extinction as a simple function of the UV color. The lack of a large, uniform, high quality sample of galaxies with both UV and FIR measurements has severely limited the attempts to determine if a similar UV-reddening law exists for normal star forming galaxies. The GALEX mission is conducting the first ever All-sky survey in the Near-UV (2200Å) and Far-UV (1550Å). We have obtained IRAS measurements for a sample of GALEX early mission data and present the preliminary results of a IRX-β relation. Although GALEX has only completed a small fraction of the planned survey, this sample is the largest ever assembled to investigate the IRX-β correlation.
