The dynamics of hot coronae of galaxies is investigated by numerical integration of non-linear gas dynamics equations for series of appropriate models. It has been shown that a corona can be explained as a relic of a "hot" protogalaxy; it rapidly evolves during initial ≡109years and becomes almost quasistationary afterwards. A corona can be bound to a galaxy equally efficiently either by a dark halo or hot intergalactic gas; however, the temperature profiles in both cases are quite different. The conclusion is made that coronae cannot be heat conductive: in such a case they either rapidly disappear (if there is no intergalactic medium) or rapidly level off their temperature to that of the intergalactic gas, which disagrees with observable large difference between these temperatures.
