The relative abundances of many isotopes of the rare earth elements are
strongly affected by s-process nucleosynthesis in low-mass asymptotic
giant branch (AGB) stars. We briefly explore the nucleosynthesis of the
rare earth elements in AGB stars and their implications for measurements
of presolar SiC grains from those stars.
