We present results of our optical observing program to support our Chandra X-ray survey of a complete, radio-selected sample of flat-spectrum quasars.
We have obtained sub-arcsecond SDSS g' imaging for six of our sample members. In each case there is no detection of any jet optical emission. For the five of these six in which jets are detected with Chandra, the optical upper limit rules out the possibility of jet X-ray emission as a simple extension of the radio synchrotron continuum.
We also report the optical identification of the radio source PKS 1421-490. We have detected an optical source within 0.5'' of the radio position having g'=24.3, r'=23.5 and i'=23.0. The g'-r' and r'-i' colors are consistent with a quasar at z>3.0.
We have also obtained an optical/NIR spectrum of PKS 2101-490 in an effort to identify the redshift of this X-ray and radio jet source.
