Exact Solutions, Particle-Theory And Field-Theory Models Of The Early Universe

Scientific paper

Exact gravitational fields due to static and nonstatic cosmic strings arising due to the breaking of a global U(1) symmetry are investigated. The results obtained are compared with that already available in the literature for the static case. One of the nonstatic solutions reduces to an essentially static form under a coordinate transformation while another does not.
