We use Sobolev with Exact Integration (SEI) models to convert UV wind line time series observations into optical depth time series. The optical depth information allows us to make direct comparisons between column densities, instead of simple residual intensities. The optical depths enable us to examine how the ion fractions of different species behave with time and to study shifts in the wind ionization. We also demonstrate that, in certain instances, the optical depths accentuate features that are difficult to distinguish in the residual intensity time series. Finally, we point out that the range of optical depth variability determined by our analysis is a lower limit to the actual range.
