Scientific paper

In this paper the preliminary results of latitude variations due to the motion of the earth's pole of rotation carried out in Cagliari by means of Wanshaff Visual Zenith Telescope are presented and discussed. The comparison of these variations and the latitude variations observed in the International Latitude Station of Carloforte with the normal latitudes calculated by the International Polar Motion Service shows the good consistency of the polar variations observed in Cagliari.
