We present some results from a new 2D spectrograph, SAURON (Bacon et al. 2001; de Zeeuw et al. 2002). Each SAURON, exposure provides stellar as well as gaseous kinematics and absorption line strength in the wavelength range (4800-5200 Å), covering an area of (33"x41"). We have observed a sample of 24 early-type spiral galaxies, and have obtained maps of the kinematics of stars and gas, as well as stellar absorption lines fo the central 2kpc of this sample.
In order to study non-circular motions, we expand the observed velocity maps into Harmonic components, and investigate effects of the higher order perturbations on the potential. This is an efficient way to describe the data and this type of analysis is very sensitive the effects of non-axisymmetric perturbations, such as bars, on the gravitational potential, and allows us to get a better understanding of the mass distribution (Fathi et al. 2003 in progress). We also show SAURON studies of some other objects, namely NGC1068 (Emsellem et al. 2003 in preparation) and NGC7332 (Falcón-Barroso et al. 2003 submitted), revealing new insight into the intriguing kinematics and dynamics, such as kinematically decoupled cores, inner disks, AGN properties, and streaming along bars.
