We provide practical tips for achieving the optimum observing strategy in Solar System, Galactic and extragalactic Infrared Array Camera (IRAC) observations. These tips are based on the knowledge we gained during ground tests and the three month long in-orbit checkout and science validation of the instrument. Our tips include selection of the optimum frame time, dithering and mapping patterns and the readout mode to match the science goals. We present observing schemes that minimize adverse effects, such as muxbleed, banding, image persistence and scattered light.
