We have begun a project to gather modern data on early-type overcontact binaries, systems about which very little is known. These systems consist of O, B and A-type stars that are in physical contact with one another, similar to their late-type cousins the W UMa systems. We are obtaining high resolution (R 50,000) spectra to anaylze simultaneously with high precision photometry. Here we report on the first combined photometric and spectroscopic study of MP Centauri.
