The IGM Explorer is a MIDEX class mission being developed for the next MIDEX opportunity in 2004. It will provide spectroscopy and imaging in the 900- 1200 angstrom region of the spectrum with greater than 10 X the sensitivity of FUSE. Using a novel grating fabrication process, a low-cost grazing incidence telescope can be incorporated in the design, allowing a high efficiency system with minimal aberrations. Narrow band imaging at O VI 1032 as well as broad band FUV imaging will also be available. This will allow the study of the cosmic web/galaxy interface through emission and absorption, and unravel the feedback and galactic formation processes that are essential to developing a complete model of the evolution of structure in the universe.
