In models of the Galaxy, numerical calculations have shown the existence of orbits that remain in the neighborhood of a stable periodic orbit. Test particles (i.e., stars) moving along these orbits can be considered trapped. This paper attempts to predict the region of initial conditions for the production of trapped orbits in a time-dependent Hamiltonian. This region can be determined by computing the initial rotation angle. The mean value of this angle is given by an empirical formula for the case of two coupled oscillators when the frequency of one approaches the constant frequency of the other exponentially in time.
