Some of the early images from around the world and interplanetary space of the Shoemaker-Levy 9 comet's impact with Jupiter are presented and discussed. The sources of the images include the following: the Australian National University's 2.3-meter telescope at Sliding Spring; NASA's Hubble Space Telescope; the Galileo Spacecraft's instruments; McDonald Observatory's 2.7-meter telescope; the 3.5-meter telescope at Spain's Calar Alto Observatory; and the 24-inch South Pole Infrared Explorer telescope.
