Accurate heliocentric radial velocities have been derived for the regions of M8, M17, and M16 emitting the O III forbidden line. These have been compared in detail with those observed for the adjacent neutral masses of molecules, neutral hydrogen, and dust. Several interesting correlations emerge; in M17, the unusual motions of the neutral material appear to be closely related to those observed at optical wavelengths.
