X Persei optical intensity has been monitored during seven consecutive nights in late 1978. Observations included the usual UBV broad bands as well as narrow bands around H-beta and He II 4686. Some activity of about 0.05 mag., on a time scale of several hours has been detected, mainly in the U-band. Here, as in previous observations, no clear periodicity is apparent, including the probable period of 11.2h or 22.4h of the assumed companion 3U0352 + 30. The upper limit of 0.02 mag. coherent modulation of H-beta emission makes these periods unlikely.
