The wavelength dependence of the linear polarization data presented in Bastien (t98O) is analyzed. It is shown that the intrinsic position angle is, in general, a function of both wavelength and time. This result requires a complex geometrical distribution for the scattering dust grains in extended circumstellar envelopes. The strong variations in the wavelength dependence of polarization which are observed suggest large variations in the grain size in the dust scattering regions. This is consistent with the idea that grains are forming around these young stars. A simple polarization model shows that additional linear polarization observations might possibly lead to the detection of protoplanets around T Tauri stars.
