A mathematical continuous outflow model based on the theory of plasma dynamics in a radiation field is used to interpret spectra from the QSO 1303 + 308. Radiation transfer in spectral lines is examined using the Sobolev (1947) approximation. The spectra of QSO 1303 + 308 are calculated for the blue wings of resonance lines for the ions C IV, N V, and Si IV. Graphs are provided of intensity plotted against flow velocity.
