AT the total solar eclipse of June 19, 1936, a joint party composed of observers of the Tokyo Astronomical Observatory and the Central Meteorological Observatory of Japan, headed by me, was engaged in various sorts of observations of astrophysical as well as geophysical interest at Nissin (λ = 9h 37.1m, ϕ = 43° 51' in Hokkaido.
