Lewis Cliff 85332 (LEW85332) is a unique carbonaceous chondrite with chemical and petrologic characters that fall outside the ranges of the established carbonaceous chondrite groups. Its abundance ratios of refractory lithophiles and refractory siderophiles bear resemblance to CI and CR chondrites, but in many other ways LEW85332 differs significantly from these groups. It is determined that LEW85332 is a breccia, as one thin section revealed at least 10 primitive carbonaceous chandrite clasts (with both C1 and C2 affinities) that contain magnetic framboids and platelets. Two clasts containing numerous clusters of troilite grains 10 microns in size and one clast containing small needles of schreibersite embedded in fine-grained silicate matrix were also found.
