The stellar population of the irregular galaxy DDO 210 has been resolved down to V = 23.5 on CCD images centered at coordinates rather different from those quoted in the literature. DDO 210 turns out to be highly contaminated by foreground stars and by background galaxies belonging to a distant cluster. The actual stellar population of this irregular appears to be quite faint and red. If the adopted distance modulus is correct, the possible interpretation of the resulting color-magnitude diagram is twofold: either DDO 210 contains only stars older than 1 Gyr, or it contains stars as young as a few Myr, which are affected by a reddening E(B - V) of about 0.4, much larger than that normally attributed to that region of the sky.
