Opacities for a classical Cepheid model assuming a King IVa mixture are presented and compared with previous calculations. A significant enhancement of the opacity is reported when compared to the Los Alamos opacity tables. The enhancement is peaked in a region around 2.6 x 10 to the 5th K and falls off rapidly toward lower or higher temperatures. The increase in opacity is mostly due to an improved treatment of the atomic physics.
