Results are presented on high-velocity-resolution H(C-12)O(+) (J = 1-0) and H(C-13)O(+) (J = 1-0) observations toward L1551 carried out by the Metsahovi 13.7-m radio telescope. The observations revealed a bipolar H(C-12)O(+) outflow from the L1551 IRS-5 premain sequence star and a rotating H(C-13)O(+) disc around the star. In the disc area, the H(C-12)O(+) spectra show two distinct velocity components: a right-hand component, which agrees with the velocity of the H(C-13)O(+) disc, and a left-hand component, which appears to belong to the outflow and the dense lobe material. The results support those of hydromagnetic outflow models.
