The properties of the radio continuum emission from the central region of a large sample of spiral galaxies (154 galaxies) are analyzed with emphasis on a comparison of interacting and noninteracting spiral galaxies, of barred and nonbarred spirals, of early and late type spirals, and of nuclei optically classified as H II region and Liner. It is found that (1) the central radio sources in nuclei classified as Liner are a factor of 5 weaker than the ones in H II region nuclei; (2) the central radio source in barred spiral galaxies are a factor of 5 stronger than those found in nonbarred spirals; (3) the H II region nuclei in late type spirals are a factor of 5 stronger than the ones in the early type spirals; the Liners in late type spirals are a factor of 4 weaker than the ones in the early type spiral galaxies; and (4) central radio sources in interacting galaxies are a factor of 5 stronger than those in the more isolated galaxies.
