Observations for oxygen abundances in metal poor stars are summarized and a preliminary analysis of the spectra was performed using model atmosphere analysis programs. The effective temperature and O/Sc and O/Fe ratios were obtained for about twenty stars of different evolutionary phases and chemical composition. The results, which refer to a small sample of stars, indicate that a slight (0.3 dex) oxygen overabundance exists in metal poor stars.
