The Very Long Baseline Array is now capable of delivering measurements of positions, relative to quasars, with accuracies approaching micro-arcseconds. This talk will present new results on the proper motion of Sgr A*, the compact object at the center of the Galaxy. These measurements yield the ratio of the rotation speed of the LSR (Thetao) to the distance to the Galactic Center (Ro) and provide a dynamical definition for Galactic coordinates. Additionally, we have measured parallaxes and proper motions of young high-mass stars. We find that kinematic distances are systematically too large, because the IAU recommended value of Thetao/Ro is too small and because high-mass stars display large deviations from circular motion. Since high-mass star forming regions delineate spiral structure, our parallax measurements will locate the spiral arms of the Galaxy.
