We present here the search for low mass X-ray binaries in quiescence (qLMXBs) in the globular cluster NGC 6304 using XMM-Newton observations. The spectral analysis led to the identification of three candidate qLMXBs within the field of this globular cluster (GC), each consistent with the X-ray spectral properties of previously identified qLMXBs. One is located within one core radius (rc) of the center of NGC 6304. A second one is found well outside the optical core (at 32 rc) but still within the tidal radius. From spatial coincidence, we identify a bright 2MASS infrared counterpart. We also identify a third, low signal-to-noise candidate with a 2MASS counterpart. Three qLMXBs from this GC is a number marginally consistent with that expected from the structural properties of NGC 6304. We also report a unusually hard power-law index (α=-2.21.5-∞).
