The satellite IK-18 observed parameters of the ionospheric-magnetospheric relationship. Measurements of the subauroral ionospheric trough were carried out. The dependence of the trough phenomena on geomagnetic activity, local time, height and other characteristic dimensions was studied. Results suggest that the trough is a result of ionospheric-magnetospheric interaction.
