In a region in Orion and taking as center the Horsehead nebula contained in IC 434 we found 98 stars with Halpha in emission. Most of them are in areas of ionized interstellar matter. At the same time from blue and red direct plates we found a small aggregate of stars of considerably large blue-infrared color index on the heavily obscured emission nebula NGC 2024, and that appear on the nebular "wing" closer to the possible exciting star zeta Orionis.
