Two samples of double radio sources whose axes were inclined at large and small angles to the line of sight were examined to determine if the radio nucleus of a double source should appear Doppler brightened due to relativistic beaming. The statistics of the fraction of the flux of the source contributed by its nuclear core can be obtained; sources with large inclination angles dominate the samples of extended, well-resolved double sources, so that their core fraction can be estimated from published aperture synthesis surveys. Double sources oriented close to the line of sight are expected to be more usual in specimens with only those sources whose angular sizes are double the median size for that flux density range.
