The destruction of deuterium as a result of high energy photon emission from evaporating primordial black holes is examined. The decrease in abundance is found to be comparable in magnitude with the increase predicted by Zeldovich et al. in their consideration of nucleon emission by black holes, indicating that the fate of deuterium in a universe containing small black holes needs further examination.
