We discuss our detection of a giant X-ray flare (Lx>~1044 erg/s) from the direction of the previously unknown, optically inactive galaxy pair RX J1242.6-1119 and investigate outburst scenarios. The huge peak luminosity makes RX J1242.6-1119 an excellent candidate for a tidal disruption event that occurred at the center of one of the two galaxies. .
