A sample of 58 northern-sky radio sources has been monitored for total flux density variability between 1973 and 1979. In some cases of unquestionable variability, there is correlation with activity at shorter wavelengths. In a few cases, variation of a component physically distinct from that observed at shorter wavelengths is indicated. The observations rule out a simple expanding synchrotron model.
