The inclination distributions of normal, Seyfert, and Markarian galaxies in the MCG catalog were compared, and the role of selection effects in the preferential orientations of Seyfert galaxies is evaluated. The probable boundaries of the inclination angles of the galaxies are calculated. The proportion of Seyfert galaxies in different inclination intervals was obtained. It is shown that the distribution of Seyfert galaxies is strongly asymmetric in comparison with Markarian galaxies. Self-absorption in the ultraviolet in Markarian galaxies is found to be the main selection mechanism for the observed preferential orientation.
