The 6078-A doublet of interstellar Li I has been observed at high spectral resolution (3 km/s) toward Delta Sco and Zeta Oph with a Reticon detector yielding an extremely high signal-to-noise ratio around 4000. This first detection toward Delta Sco gives a measured equivalent width of 0.25 + or 0.03 mA. In order to evalute the lithium isotopic ratio, the Zeta Oph data are analyzed by using a profile fitting method. For the first time in the interstellar medium, a Li-7/Li-6 ratio of 38 for a diffuse cloud in front of Zeta Oph is derived. The lower limit of the error bar (25) is clearly incompatible with the ratio measured in meteorites, and is not yet explained by recent models of galactic evolution. It is suggested that what is at hand is a local inhomogeneity, possibly due to an enrichment by material processed in an earlier generation of stars. For both stars, the total lithium column-densities are calculated and compared with those of potassium, sodium, rubidium and hydrogen. It is concluded that all the alkalis, potassium, rubidium, and lithium are depleted by the same amount.
