The authors have observed the 12CO and 13CO 2.6-mm lines in the direction of a dozen diffuse clouds. In a selection of 5 of these regions they have also observed the OH 18-cm lines and partially mapped the 12CO and H I 21-cm lines. The 12CO, 13CO, and OH lines are well correlated. The 13CO/12CO line ratio appears to be ≡4 times smaller in these clouds than in dense molecular clouds; the resulting 13CO/12CO abundance ratio is of the order of 1/60. The relation between the 21-cm line and molecular lines is not clear. Some molecular lines have 21-cm self-absorption counterparts, others have 21-cm emission counterparts. In many cases the 21-cm profile does not show any narrow feature at the molecular velocity. This may be attributed to saturation of the 21-cm line.
