Existing data on the relatively bright field star HD 63791 support the notion that this star is a high-velocity metal-poor G giant of the halo population. The metal abundance is probably 1/100 of the solar abundance. Another possible halo giant is HD 170899, classified as GO. Attention is drawn to the southern halo star, HD 6268, which is described as an extremely metal-poor halo giant.
